This Sunday's Dolphins-Rams game at Sunlife Stadium WILL BE televised locally on Fox 29 at 1 p.m. A press release from the team simply states that they have complied with the NFL requirements for games to be broadcast locally. It's not known whether all 51,000 tickets had sold as of the deadline of 1 p.m. on Thursday, or if the team or the Miami Fox affiliate guaranteed a sell-out.
Meanwhile, not that we advocate gambling, but the Vegas odds makers are betting on Miami this weekend.
For the first time this season, the Dolphins are picked as favorites to win this Sunday in Miami against the St. Louis Rams. This despite the Rams having a 3-2 record, versus Miami's 2-3 record.
As I've noted in previous posts, it's not all about records. Miami proved that in Cincinnati last weekend, when they defeated a team with a 3-1 record, while the Dolphins had the inverted 1-3 record heading in.
I'll make my pick on Friday, but keep these points in mind:
1) The Dolphins lead the all-time series against the Rams, 9-2. Miami has won the last two games and four of the last five.
2) The Rams have a bad record on the road since the 2008 season. They are 5-29 in road games during that time span.
3) St. Louis is without Danny Amendola, their leading wide receiver, who could have plagued Miami's defense, catching balls down the middle of the field. He was injured during last Thursday night's game.
